MSP FOR TORIA INCREASED BY RS.100

While fixing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Rapeseed/Mustard the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had asked Ministry of Agriculture to fix MSP for Toria on the basis of their normal price differentials.

Based on normal market price differentials between Toria and Rapeseed/Mustard, the Minimum support Price (MSP) of Toria of fair Average Quality (FAQ) for 2001-2002 Crop to be marketed in 2002-03 has been fixed at Rs.1265/- per quintal. This marks an increase of Rs.100/- per quintal over the price fixed for the previous year i.e. 2001-2002.

The National Agricultural cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) will as hitherto provide Price Support to Toria to ensure Minimum Support price to the farmers as agreed terms and conditions.
