CONCESSION ON IMPORT DUTY FOR COREX TECHNOLOGY
The customs duty on
metallurgical coke has been reduced from 15 per cent to 5 per
cent in the Budget 2002-03 for steel units using corex technology.
This is in line with the similar concession available to other
conventional steel plants using the blast furnace route. The Government
is not providing these concessions to other steel plants as they
already get concessions.
This information
was given by the Minister for Steel Shri B.K.Tripathy in a written
reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
