SECURITY LAPSES AT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS


 

Fourteen incidents of security lapses, most of which are intrusion cases, occurred at the international airports during the last year. The concerning agencies have been advised to take action against the erring officials.

Following steps have been taken to strengthen security arrangements :

  1. Time bound deployment of CISF at all operational airports.
  2. Deployment of Quick Reaction Teams at major airports.
  3. Secondary ladder point frisking at all airports
  4. Deployment of Sky Marshals on domestic scheduled flights at random basis.
  5. Regular monitoring of security arrangements by inspections and dummy checks.

This information was given by the Civil Aviation Minister Shri Syed Shahnawaz Hussain in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
