FAILURE OF RAILWAY STAFF BLAMED FOR TRAIN ACCIDENT

The Commissioner of Railway Safety, Shri Mahesh Chand, Eastern Circle, Kolkata in his preliminary report on collision between 1448 up Shaktipunj Express with goods train 7330 in Danea Yard on Gomoh-Barakakana section of Dhanbad Division of East Central Railway at 23.00 hours on March 16, 2003, has held that the accident occurred due to failure of railway staff.

As a result of the accident, one person died and five persons received simple injuries.

The finding of the Commissioner of Railway Safety is under the consideration of the Government.
