COMPUTERISATION OF COACHING REFUNDS
A Pilot Project of
computerization of coaching (ticket) refunds started on South
Central Railways in 2002-2003 has proved to be immensely popular
with the rail users.
The Ministry
of Railways has now decided to extend this scheme to other Zonal
Railways in phases. This would facilitate easy grant of refunds
of tickets.
In addition to
the existing facilities, refunds of the amount of tickets due
from any Passenger Reservation System (PRS) centre has been permitted
with effect from April 1, 2003 three hours after the train has
reached its destination.
