NON-IMPLEMENTATION OF MPLAD SCHEME
The Minister of State
in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Shri
S.B.Mookherjee told the Lok Sabha today that four complaints have
been received in the Ministry regarding implementation of Member
of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) in the State
of Gujarat, including one for Surendrangar district, since March
2001. He was replying to an unstarred question by Shri Savshibhai
Makwana.
The Minister further
elaborated that as and when complaints are received from Members
of Parliament, the matter is taken up with the concerned District
Administration/State Government for remedial action and replies
are sent to the MPs concerned. Particularly for Surendranagar
district the recommendation from the M.P. for construction of
‘seeds’ godown wall’ could not be implemented as the work was
not permissible under MPLAD Scheme.
