SAFETY RELATED TRAINING IN RAILWAYS

The Railways have embarked upon modifying and refreshing the training of Railway staff to update their knowledge and skill. Accordingly, a comprehensive training need analysis of all categories of staff is underway. Based on the analysis, training modules are revised to suit the training requirement of individual staff besides, bringing changes in technology, work practices and objectives of the job.

All major training centers are being provided with funds under the Special Railway Safety Fund (SRSF) for providing aids, models and kits to improve safety awareness among the railway staff.

For attracting competent and talented instructors training allowance is granted to them and they are allowed to retain quarters at their previous places of posting for two years.

In addition, a separate unit is being set up for training techniques and instructional designs at Gwalior for development of lesson plans and training modules of all railway staff.
