EXPANSION OF TAMLUK-CONTAI RAIL LINE

On Tamluk-Digha
(87.50 km) new line project, the work of Tamluk-Kanthi (Contai)
(56.6 km) section has been completed. Efforts are being made to
complete the work beyond Kanthi (Contai) up to Digha during 2004-2005.
The Tamluk-Digha (87.50 km) new line work is presently sanctioned
at a cost of Rs. 293.97 crore.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Basanagouda
R. Patil in a written reply to a question from Shri Rupchand Murmu
in the Lok Sabha today.
