USE OF OLD UNUSED TRACKS
RAJYA SABHA
The materials, released
from main link track renewals which still have residual service
life, are re-used for laying track in gauge conversion and secondary
renewal, where it can meet the requirement.
During the current
financial year, till October 31, 2003, a total of 690 kms, has
been renewed with used material released from the track.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Basanagouda
R. Patil in a written reply to a question from Shri Santosh Bagrodia
in the Rajya Sabha today.
