NEW PROJECTS UNDER THE "MARU GOUCHAR YOJANA"
Ministry of Rural
Development has released Rs. 278.94 lakh to 10 desert districts
of Rajasthan identified for implementation of "MARU GOUCHAR
YOJANA". These districts are Bikaner, Barmer, Jodhpur,
Sikar, Jalore, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Jaisalmer, Pali and Nagaur. The
funds would be utilised for development of 40 Orans during 2003-2004
with a total area of 1015 hectares and creation of Central and
satellite nurseries at the total cost of Rs.371.92 lakh.
The expenditure for
implementation of these projects would be incurred over a project
period of three years from the date of their sanction. The project
cost shall be shared by the Central and State Government in the
ratio of 75:25. The State Government should release its 25% share
to the Zila Parishad/DRDA within 15 days from the release of the
Central share.
