The Prime Minister
Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has expressed deep shock over the sudden
demise of the former president of the Uttar Pradesh Unit of the
Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Rajendra Gupta.
In his condolence
message Shri Vajpayee described Shri Gupta as an able administrator
and a dedicated social worker who throughout his life strived
for the development and upliftment of the State. Shri Gupta, in
his capacity as a minister in the UP Government and as Deputy
Chairman of the State Planning Commission initiated several developmental
projects. In his death Uttar Pradesh has lost an experienced and
able leader, the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister
has sent his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved
family.
