According to a communication issued
by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chairman of
the Twelfth Finance Commission has been granted the status of
a Cabinet Minister of the Union and Shri T.R. Prasad and Prof.
D.K. Srivastava, Members of the Commission have been granted the
status of Ministers of State of the Union. Shri Sompal, who is
part-time Member of the Twelfth Finance Commission, already enjoys
the status of Minister of State in his capacity as Member of the
Planning Commission.
