The first refrigerated
Parcel Van was formally inaugurated on November 1, 2002 at Ernakulam
Junction of Southern Railway. It is running successfully between
Gorakhpur-Bangalore since then. It was manufactured by Rail Coach
Factory, Kapurthala.
Manufacture of nine
additional refrigerated Parcel Vans has been planned this year.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya
in a written reply to a question from Shri C.P. thirunavukkarasu
in the Rajya Sabha today.
