DECLINE IN PASSENGER TRAFFIC

There was decline
in the season ticket segment due to a major reduction in the sale
of low value monthly season tickets priced at Rs. 15/-.
In order to increase
the passenger traffic in the season ticket segment, the fares
in this segment have not been increased in the financial year
2003-2004.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya
in a written reply to a question from Shri Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi
in the Lok Sabha today.
