TOOL ROOM & TRAINING CENTRE
FOR SSIs AT PATNA
Union Minister for
Small Scale Industries & Department of Development of North
Eastern Region, Dr. C.P. Thakur today laid the foundation stone
of Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) for Small Scale Industries
at Patna. The objective of the proposed TRTC is to provide short
term training in the area of Computerised Aided Design (CAD) /
Computerised Aided Machine (CAM) and other software programmes,
besides providing consultancy services in the field of tool engineering.
TRTC is a joint venture
of Indo-Danish Tool Room (IDTR) Jamshedpur and Small Industries
Service Institute, Patna. The cost of the project is estimated
as Rs. 108.50 lakh wherein the expenditure borne by SISI, Patna
will be Rs. 63.00 lakh for computer hardware, fixtures and other
works. IDTR Jamshedpur will bear the cost of Rs. 45.50 lakh mainly
towards software, teaching aids and library facilities. Space
for the center will be provided by SISI, Patna, in its own premises.
The MOU between IDTR, Jamshedpur and SISI, Patna will be valid
initially for a period of five years and can be mutually renewed
after every three years with the approval of the competent authority.
TRTC will pave the
way for the industrial development of Bihar by providing new avenues
and opportunities for skill development in the State of Bihar.
