PROBLEMS OF SUGAR INDUSTRY DISCUSSED

Patil, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises held
detailed discussions here yesterday with Finance Minister, Shri
Jaswant Singh on problems facing the sugar industry in the country
especially sugar cooperatives. Shri Patil suggested a number of
measures that could be considered by the Government for improving
the condition of sugar industry. The Ministers also discussed
the issue of rural credit especially in the housing and farm mechanisation
sectors.
