NEW CHIEFS FOR CBEC AND CEIB

Shri A.K. Singh will take over as Chairman of the Central Board of Excise and Customs following the superannuation of Shri M. K. Zutshi on May 31,2003. An officer of the 1967 batch of the Indian Customs and Excise Service, Shri Singh has held several important posts including commissioner Customs and Excise, Patna and chief commissioner of East Zone Calcutta, Lucknow and Delhi. Shri Singh has been member of the CBEC since February 2001.

Shri U.K. Sen, member of the CBEC, will take over as Special Secretary cum Director General, Central Economic Intelligence Bureau.
