FERNANDES CONDOLES KUSHAK BAKULA’S DEMISE

The Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes has condoled the demise of Kushak Bakula. In his condolence message Shri Fernandes said that in the death of Kushak Bakula, the country has lost a great patriot and the people of Leh-Ladakh have lost the person who did yeoman service to them. As India’s ambassador to Mongolia he became an icon in that country commanding respect bordering on worship from the rulers and the ruled. He was greatly revered in the Himalayan region and also earned world respect. He was a keen parliamentarian and an erudite Buddhist monk who contributed significantly to preservation and promotion of the Himalayan Buddhist tradition and culture.

Shri Fernandes said that he joins all the near and dear ones and particularly the people of Leh-Ladakh in mourning the loss of this great Indian.
