INTERNET RAIL TICKETS NOW IN OVER 80 CITIES


The booking of tickets for rail journey in India through Internet has been extended to over 80 major cities. The facility of delivery of tickets at the doorsteps of customers will be extended to other cities shortly.

The rail tickets can be booked on the Internet at the website : www.irctc.co.in by any user after registering at the site. Registration is free.

The payments for tickets are made by user of Master, Visa, Diners, Club Credit Cards, Citibank Debit Cards and other Cards through Direct Debits to the users, who have their account in banks having Internet banking facility.

Launched on August 3, 2002 by Indian the Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a public sector undertaking of the Ministry of Railways, Internet booking of rail tickets has become popular with the users. So far, about 60 lakhs tickets have been purchased on Internet by the rail users.
