TOURIST ARRIVALS INCREASES 23.5%
IN AUGUST
Foreign tourist
arrivals during August this year has registered 23.5% increase
over the arrivals in August, 2002. During the month 200803 foreign
tourists visited the country while in August 2002 number of tourists
was 162594. This year till August, total arrivals has recorded
14.2% increase.
During January-August,
2003 foreign exchange earnings through tourist arrival also registered
19.3% increase over the earnings of corresponding period of last
year. Monthwise arrivals and foreign exchange earnings were as
follow:
