COOKING FREE RAILWAY STATIONS
The Ministry of Railways
has issued guidelines to the Zonal Railways asking them to discourage
cooking and deep frying on the platforms of non-suburban stations
with annual passenger earnings of more than Rs. 6 crores and classified
as "A" class stations.
This is intended
to improve environmental cleanliness on the platforms of such
stations as well as to de-congest them.
However, no time-frame
has been fixed for making such railway stations cooking free.
