17TH LAW COMMISSION CONSTITUTED
The Government has
constituted the 17th Law Commission of India with Shri
Justice M. Jagannadha Rao, a retired Judge of the Supreme Court
of India as Chairman. He was the Chairman of the 16th
Law Commission. Dr. N.M. Ghatate, a senior Advocate of the Supreme
Court and a Member of the previous Commission, has been appointed
Vice Chairman of the 17th Commission. Shri S. Muralidhar,
Advocate, Supreme Court of India, has been appointed as a part-time
Member of the Commission.
The term of the
17th Law Commission shall be up to August 31, 2006.
