AJMER-PUSHKAR RAIL LINK


Indian Railways have taken up broad gauge rail link of Ajmer with Pushkar.

The 26.3 kilometres rail link is estimated to cost Rs. 67 crores.

Approved in 200-2001, Rs. 5 crores has been provided for this project in the current financial year 2003-2004. By the end of this fiscal, about Rs. 10 crores is to be incurred.

Final location survey of the project has been completed and land acquisition plans submitted to the State Government. The Railways have also deposited Rs. 9.9 crores with the Government of Rajasthan for land acquisition. Further detailed estimate is under scrutiny of the Ministry of Railways.

The Ajmer-Pushkar rail link will connect the two holy cities and further integrate the people in this region.
