WAREHOUSING ON RAILWAYS THROUGH PRIVATE
PARTICIPATION
Indian Railways have
embarked upon developing rail side warehousing complexes at 22
locations.
The rail side warehousing
complexes are being developed as a joint venture with M/s Central
Warehousing Corporation (CWC).
These warehousing
complexes are intended to provide integrated seamless transport
service to the customers. This is also designed to reduce overall
logistic cost to the users.
Added to this, Railways
have introduced weekly Parcel Express trains with scheduled paths
and fast transits between important major cities.
