Synopsis  (Country : Canada)

Streetheart
100 mins/1998

Louise, a young woman with a thirst for life, finds herself alone, caught in the cocoon she has spun to protect herself.  Even the people closest to her remain detached and unreachable.  Julien, her 5- to-7  lover, leaves her with nothing more than books and words.  Her sister, Paulette, resists reconciliation.
In a desperate attempt to connect with other people, Louise devises a game that allows her to enter into other people’s worlds.  At random, she stops passersby on the street and offers herself to them – to do as they please for one hour.  Some refuse; others squander their chance and still others draw her into their lives to help with everything from sexual fantasies to disposing of a dead dog, to assisting in the euthanasia of a dying lover.  While unquestionably disturbing at times, the film is surprisingly life affirming in the end.
