Synopsis  (Country : Canada)

2 Seconds

100 mins/1998

At the beginning of a mountain bike race, Laurie, a young competitor, hesitates for a couple of seconds.  As a result, she is made to retire from the sport and returns to Montreal to live with her brother. She gets a job as a downtown bicycle courier.
One day, she discovers a bicycle shop run by Lorenzo, a grumpy, old Italian.  A former cycling champion, Lorenzo now hides at the back of his workshop, fixing bikes.  He takes an instant dislike to Laurie, who reminds him too much of himself.  But Laurie cannot be scared off so easily.  One evening, while watching a race, Lorenzo shows Laurie that winning is relative and that, as far as relativity goes, speed is not the only way to make time stand still.
