Synopsis  (Country : Mexico)

Who the Hell Is Juliette?

91 mins/1997

Juliette is a 16 year old Cuban girl whose father abandoned family and country years ago for the USA and established a new family there.  Her mother, in a reaction to economic and emotional pressures, burned herself to death in the bathroom and Juliette grew up in the care of her physically abusive grandmother.  This tragic background helps to explain her rebelliousness.  Fabiola, is a Mexican model with a successful career in Manhatten who likewise grew up without a father. Her mother claims that the father is an European archaeologist working on Aztec culture in a village in which all the young girls show a remarkable resemblance to him.  Fabiola’s career took off with a video clip filmed in 1995 in which Juliette participated.  The two young women with so much in common, physically and mentally, now meet again and go in search of their unknown fathers to Havana, Patzcuaro, Mexico City…
