The Pear Tree   (IRAN)

100 mins/1998

Mahmud, a middle-aged poet and writer, journeys to his place of birth in the Bagh Damavand to write a book. The pear tree in the garden reminds Mahmud of his childhood and youth and takes him back in time to the memory of his first love. The gardener, meanwhile, keeps pointing out to Mahmud that, unlike the other trees in the garden, the pear tree is the only one that has never borne fruit.
