Model toilet built with environmentally friendly construction materials inaugurated
BMTPC TO REPLICATE SUCH TOILETS IN OTHER CITIES

Union Minister for Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation, Kumari Selja today inaugurated the Model Toilet Complex in a M.C.D School in the capital. This has been constructed by Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC), using cost effective and environmentally friendly construction materials and technologies. Speaking on the occasion Kumari Selja said that the government is planning to replicate such toilets based upon this model in various MCD schools in Delhi and other cities. She also advised the school management and civic bodies to maintain these facilities with the involvement of school children. “Children are the best carriers of crucial messages of social concern and hence one should make it a point to instill the right concerns in the young minds”, she added.
Among others who attended the function were Secretary, Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation, Smt. Chitra Chopra, Mayor of MCD Shri Asharam Verma, senior officials of government of India and MCD.
